AAH Donates $4600+ in Miami & Hardin Counties (2012-13)
Ohio Northern University feted their 3rd annual event on November 10, 2012, raising $2300 for the Kenton City Schools' Backpack Program. The AAH Chapter in Miami County raised a similar amount. $2326 was donated to Needy Baskets of Tipp City, Union Fish, Helping Hands Christmas Baskets, the Outreach Program of Bradford and the Troy Backpack Program. Additionally, surplus food donations were passed on to ReStore of Ada, Franklin Women's Shelter and St. Patrick's Soup Kitchen of Troy.
AAH Partners w/ Fairborn Art Association for October Event
As anti-hunger efforts spread through the empty bowls project, Fairborn Art Association announced that it will begin its first event to assist the Fairborn Backpack Program. The event is scheduled for October 26th, 2013 at the Fairborn Senior Apartments on 221 Central Avenue. Local ceramic are busy finishing up many ceramic bowls, and the Miami County Chapter of AAH will be also providing bowls to the event. The bowls will be offered for a suggested donation of $10. Mayumi Kiefer, founder of AAH and fellow member of the Fairborn Art Association, Clarice Moore are spearheading the event. For details on the event, contact the FAA here.
AAH To Donate Bowls to Milwaukee, WI Empty Bowls
Milwaukee Wisconsin will fete its 15th annual fundraising event to support anti-hunger programs in the Milwaukee area, AAH founder Mayumi Kiefer and husband, Steve, will attend the event as a way to show their support, and as a way to discover new and creative ways of raising funds. They will deliver and donate ceramic bowls, and will assist in serving at the event. For information about the Milwaukee event, click here.
